Carol Hurley Brown, age 84, passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2001 in Clayton, NM. Born in Port Arthur, Texas, on August 3, 1916, Carol had lived most of her life in Union County, NM. She married William. E."Bill" Brown on June 27, 1937, in Clayton, NM, and he preceded her in death on February 28, 1994. Carol is survived by one son, Nick Brown and his wife, Sharon of Clayton; one daughter, Judy Schuster and her husband, Larry of Albuquerque, NM; four grandchildren, Rachel Veitch, David Schuster, and Cindy Clark all of Albuquerque and Sean Brown of Phoenix, AZ; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 24, 2001 at the First United Methodist Church in Clayton with Rev. Bob Boyd, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton. The family suggests that memorials be made to the New Mexico Boys Ranch and Girls Ranch, Boys Ranch, NM 87002, or to the Union County General Hospital, Clayton, NM 88415.
