Obituary for Turpen

Donald C. Turpen passed on suddenly on May 29, 2001 while recovering from recent surgery. Mr. Turpen practiced law in Albuquerque for many years prior to moving to Silver City not long ago. He also practiced law in Saudi Arabia, Greece, Mexico, Venezuela, and Chile earlier in his career. He was a Veteran of the Air Force, a Sigma Chi, and held a Bachelor's Degree in Geology from the University of Kentucky, Masters in History from UNM, and Jurist Doctor from George Washington University, Washington, D.C. He worked for Senator Clinton P. Anderson while attending law school. Mr. Turpen was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Noah C. Turpen, longtime APS administrator; and his mother, Elizabeth Turpen, a retired music teacher. Mr. Turpen was buried in the Ft. Bayard Military Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. His loving wife, Bonnie and the rest of the family will truly miss him.
