Obituary for Higgins

Marvin M. "Marv" Higgins, 89, a resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday, June 9, 2001. He is survived by his wife, of 70 years, Margaret M. Higgins; son, Bruce Higgins and wife, Sue; three grandchildren, Janet Ratliff of Albuquerque, Jim Higgins and wife, Suzzette of Sacramento, CA, and Jeff Higgins and wife, Terri of Albuquerque; five great-grandchildren, Cortney and Cory Ratliff, Hayley & Alec Higgins and Jake Higgins; and numerous nieces and nephews in Michigan. Marv was a beloved husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He moved to Albuquerque from Michigan in 1946 for his health and was a barber at Chamberlain's Barber Shop and Kelso's Barber Shop in Albuquerque and also owned and operated his own barber shop. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held in the Rose Garden at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM., Tuesday, June 12, 2001, 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Rick Donaho, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association of New Mexico, 525 San Pedro NE, #101, Albuquerque, NM 87108.
