Obituary for Thomas

Ruth Mary McMahon Rigby Thomas, age 93 died Monday October 8, 2001 in Albuquerque, NM. Mrs. Thomas was born in Winslow, AZ, and had been a resident of New Mexico since 1914. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and head of the Republican Women's Association of New Mexico; she was also a delegate to the state Republican Convention. Mrs. Thomas was owner of the George H. Thomas Insurance Agency. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Thomas; her daughters, Patsy and Jeri Rigby; sister, Alice King; brother, Buddy McMahon; parents, Joseph and Edith McMahon; and grandson, George Scott Rigby. Mrs. Thomas is survived by her son, Gerald W. Rigby Sr. and wife, Barbara Kidd Rigby of Diamond Head, Mississippi; one sister, Helen Brown of Choctaw, Oklahoma; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and many loved ones and friends. A Rosary will be recited Thursday, October 11, 2001 at 7:00 p.m. in the Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary 1100 Coal Ave SE. Mass of the Resurrection will be Friday, October 12, 2001 at 9:30 a.m. at St Charles Borromeo 1818 Coal Pl SE. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park 700 Yale Blvd SE. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Eternal World Catholic Television Network, Old Leeds Rd. Irondale, Alabama 35210. Strong-Thorne Mortuary is entrusted to the care of Mrs. Thomas.
