Obituary for Schneider

Josef F. Schneider, age 81, a resident of Albuquerque for 31 years, died on January 19, 2001. He was born on October 27, 1919 in Munich, Germany, where he grew up and after serving in World War II, completed his education. In 1956, he emigrated to Alamogordo, NM to work at Holloman Air Force Base, and moved to Albuquerque in 1970 to work at Kirtland Airfoce Base. Josef is survived by his wife, Edith; daughter, Sabine and husband, David Boruff and their children, Max and Joshua, all of Albuquerque; son, Thomas Schneider and wife, Alexis, of Topenga, CA. Josef was an active member of his church and the community. He taught computer classes at Bear Canyon Senior Citizen's Center and played violin in the Albuquerque Philharmonic Orchestra. After his retirement in 1989, he continued to be a member of and edit the newsletter for the Instrumentation Society of America. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Presbyterian Hospice, 8100 Constitution Place NE, Suite 120, Albuquerque, NM 87110. A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 1818 Coal Place SE, with Father Normand Falardeau, Celebrant.
