Obituary for Mode

William Marvin Mode "Bill", 83, a resident to Albuquerque since 1941, died Tuesday, January 16, 2001. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Julia Hicks Mode of Albuquerque; daughter, Trish Snipes of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Nicole Snipes of Albuquerque; brother, Alston Mode of North Carolina; and many nieces, nephews, and special friends especially the Rogers family. Mr. Mode served his country honorably in the USAF for 25 years. He served in WWII and the Korean Conflict. Following his service to his country, Bill retired from the University of New Mexico, CERF in 1975. He was a life member of the Air Force Sergeants Association and DAV. Mr. Mode loved woodworking and baseball. He was a very special person to all and he was there whenever someone needed him. Services will be held Friday, January 19, 2001, 10:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Chaplain Lemuel Boyles, Col. (Ret.) USAF, officiating. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd, NE, Friday, January 19, 2001 9:00 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Air Force Memorial Foundation, P.O. Box 97026, Washington, DC, 20077-7193 in Bill's honor.
