Obituary for Menini

Albertine E. Menini returned home to the Lord, Wednesday, January 10, 2001 on her 86th birthday. A resident of Gallup, NM since 1935, she was born and raised in Chicago, IL and migrated to the southwest with The Fred Harvey Co. as a waitress. She worked at the Dearborn Station, Chicago, the Grand Canyon's Bright Angel and El Tovar, the La Fonda in Santa Fe, the Alvardo in Albuquerque and the El Navajo in Gallup. After the El Navajo closed she worked at the El Rancho and Talk of the Town. She always enjoyed her travels and many friends and lived life to the fullest. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph C. Menini, brother, Bruno Zvirzin, and daughter-in-law, Faye Hopper Menini. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley A. Preston; son, Rudolph C. Menini IL; grandson, Bruce B. Preston; granddaughter, Brenda Babb and her three children; a brother, Alex Zvirzin; special cousin, Christine Weisenback; many nieces and nephews and special friend, Maxine Scott. Cremation has been arranged through Sunrise Society of NM. A Memorial Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 415 E. Green, Gallup, NM at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2001. Reception following at Elk Lodge. Private interment will be at the Elks Rest, Hill Crest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity or Presbyterian Hospice, 8100 Constitution PL., NE, Abq, NM 87110. The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to all who prayed, visited, telephoned, sent flowers and cards, and showed love, kindness and comfort.
