Obituary for Kelly

Evelyn E. Kelly was born on June 6, 1916, in Clinton, Wisconsin and died on January 15, 2001 in Albuquerque, NM. Educated in Madison and at the University of Wisconsin, she moved with her family to Albuquerque in 1945. An artist, she was a 50 year member of the American Association of University Women in Albuquerque, a 40 year member of the Painting Interest Group and chairman of that group for over a decade. A 50 year member of Monte Vista Christian Church, she was a member or chairman of the Memorials Committee for over 20 yeas. She also held offices in other civic and professional organizations in Albuqueque and state level positions with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She was preceded in death by two children and her husband of 54 years, A.W. (Red) Kelly. She is survived by her daughter, Eleanor Cooley and son-in-law, Rev. Ted Cooley of the home; three grandsons, Thomas Cooley and wife, Mary of Albuquerque, Major William Cooley and wife, Janet, stationed at Reinmein, Germany, and James Cooley and wife, Susan of Alexandria, VA; four great-grandchildren; two sisters; a brother; and nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. There will be a service in the celebration of her life at Monte Vista Christian Church on Saturday, January 20, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. In place of flowers, memorials are requested to the AAUW Scholarship Fund or to the Memorial Fund of Monte Vista Christian Church.
