Essie Hanson Frizell, 98, of Raton died Friday, April 20, 2001 in Raton. She was born March 13, 1903 in Haskel County, Texas the daughter of George and Maud Hines, Hanson. Mrs. Frizell had worked for Rubins in Raton for many years and had owned and operated her own cafe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rema and one son, Kenneth. She is survived by two daughters, Elsie Federici and husband, William of Santa Fe, NM, and Betty Nutt of Tucumcari, NM; one son, Jack Frizell of Raton; one sister, Erna Hanson of Stanford, TX; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday April 23 from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home in Raton. Services will be Tuesday, April 24 at 11:00 a.m. at the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Hensley officiating. Burial will be at the Fairmont Cemetery in Raton. Arrangements for Essie H. Frizell are under the direction of the Yaksick-Long Funeral Home.
