Obituary for Brown

Walter L. Walt Brown, 72, a resident of Albuquerque, died on Wednesday, April 11, 2001. Walt is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lorraine M. Brown; sons, Larry Brown and wife, Dianne, Michael Brown and Walter Brown, Jr.; daughters, Helen Strader and Rosalie SandyGarcia; grandchildren, Brian Strader and wife, Dee-Dee, Eric Strader, and wife, Kelli, Jessica and Michelle Brown; great-grandson, Ty Strader and Walter Brown, III; brother, Gil Morris and wife, Pat and sister-in-law, Pauline Prendergast and husband, Dan. He served his country in the US Army. Walt dedicated his life to his family. He was the Athletic Commissioner in the State of New Mexico for 12 years, where he wrote many laws protecting boxing and wrestling participants. A Memorial service will be held on Friday, April 13, 2001, 11:00a.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd N.E. Internment of cremains to follow.
