Obituary for Aguilar

Ramon R. Aguilar, beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother was called home to be with the Lord our Savior, Saturday, October 13, 2001. Ramon was a resident of Bernalillo; a parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church; he was a proud World War II Veteran; and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Ramon worked for Sandia Bas as a Security Guard from July 30, 1956 till he retired on June 30, 1978. He was preceded in death by a son, Martin R. Aguilar; a grandson, Chris Aguilar; three brothers, Desiderio, Monico and Ernie Aguilar; and two sisters, Antonia and Tomasita. Ramon is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Stella Aguilar of the family home; his son, Charles J. Aguilar and wife, Barbara of Bernalillo; a daughter in law Mannie Aguilar; his precious grandchildren, Lawrence, Charles, Martin Jr. and Roberta; three nephews which he considered as sons, Lawrence Navarro, Tony Navarro and Jerry Nieto. Survivors also include his sisters, Aneda Aguilar, Maria Feliciana Dominguez and husband, Dan, Consuelo Montoya and husband, Sefe; brothers, Desiderio Aguilar and wife, Juliette, David Aguilar and Vicky, and Johnny Aguilar and wife, Frances; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ramon will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those who knew and loved him. Visitations will be Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alameda Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. also at the church. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Lawrence Aguilar, Charles R. Aguilar, Martin Aguilar Jr., David Aguilar, Desiderio Aguilar, Johnny Aguilar, Tony Navarro and Lawrence Navarro. In lieu of flowers, at family's request, memorial contributions may be made to Santuario de San Lorenzo Restoration Committee, c/o Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, P.O. Box 607, Bernalillo, NM 87004. Funeral services are entrusted to Alameda Mortuary, 9420 Fourth Street NW - 898-3160.
