Obituary for Rollie

Leone Michner Rollie, 89, passed away February 24, 2001. Church Services will be held at the First United Methodist at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Jeff Symonds officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park-Garden of Devotion. She was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on September 21, 1911 to Florence and ML Michner and died in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She attended the University of New Mexico where she met her husband, Allen B. Rollie. She was a resident of Gallup, New Mexico from 1932 to 1989. When Allen retired, they moved to Scottsdale, Arizona. Upon his passing in 1996, she returned to reside close to her family in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Gallup and St. John's Methodist Church of Albuquerque. She belonged to the Methodist Women's Group and helped with coordinating the move from the old Methodist Church on Aztec and Third Street to the present building located on Red Rock Drive. She was a volunteer with Girl Scouts, and Easter Seals. She was an active member of PEO in Albuquerque. She was a loving mother and took great pride and joy in her family. She is preceded in death by her mother, Florence Michner, her father, ML Michner, her husband, Allen B. Rollie and her brother, John Gray. She is survived by her loving family of three children, Arlene High of Gallup, Karen Head of Albuquerque, Allen B. Rollie II of Kingston, Ontario, Canada; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Charles High III, Gregory High, Michele Price, Wade Head, Stephanie Head, Adrianne Rollie and Mathew Rollie. Visitation will be at Rollie Mortuary on Tuesday, February 27 from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The family will receive relatives and friends after the services at the home of Arlene and Charles High, 1711 South Cliff Drive, Gallup, New Mexico. Rollie Mortuary of Gallup is in charge of arrangements.
