Tommy L. Hastie, age 71, passed away April 26, 2001 at home, after losing his eight year battle with cancer. As always he guided his loved ones with strength, dignity and a fantastic sense of humor. Born in Enid, Oklahoma, the family moved to Albuquerque in 1938, and he served in and retired from the US. Navy (1947-1967). A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, he is survived by his wife, Helen (Punkin); sons, Robbie Hastie of Hollister, CA., Randy Chilton and wife, Trinnie of Mountainair, NM.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Dr. Amy Tarnower and her great staff at Lovelace for such compassionate care and concern. Cremation has taken place. Graveside Services will be held for the family by Rev. Brian Peterson at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th ST. NW.
