Obituary for Edwards

Ana M. Edwards, age 91, died Thursday, April 26, 2001 at a local nursing home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Major General Parmer W. Edwards U.S.A.R. and her brother, Sir James Carreras. She is survived by her cousin, Edward Sturrp of Massachusetts; and niece by marriage, Mrs. Michael Carreras. She was active in the Assistance League of Albuquerque. She volunteered in the Bargain Box for many years. After retiring from the US Army, the couple lived in Florida and moved to Albuquerque about 1980. First they lived in a home in Four Hills and later at the Landmark Apartments. Eight years after the death of her husband, she went to the Lord. Memorial Mass will be held Monday, April 30, 2001 in the Kirtland Catholic Chapel, 1950 2nd St. SE on Kirtland Air Force Base at 11:00 a.m. Father Raymond Lamy will celebrate the Mass. Interment will follow in the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. The arrangements for Ana M. Edwards are under the direction of the Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal SE.
