Obituary for Davis

Richard Davis, 86, a resident of Albuquerque, died on Thursday, April 26, 2001. He grew up in Dawson, NM. Richard is survived by his wife of 61 years, Genevieve Burris Davis; son, Frank H. Rowdy Davis; daughter, Roseann Avie Davis-Carr; grandchildren, Diana Lynn Carr-Hinchman, Richard Q. Davis, Taudra Arnell Davis-Byrd and Katherine Ann Davis Farden; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Isabel Davis Beck and brother, Lawrence Grover Davis. Richard was a rancher in Jornado Range, Black Range, Dona Ana County and Luna County. He was coordinator on Jornado experimental ranch with N.M.S.U. in research and development with beef cattle. Richard was involved in gold mining in Oregon. Service will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2001, 10:00a.m. at French Mortuary, Westside Chapel, 9300 Golf Course Road NW. Burial to follow at Hill Crest Cemetery, 5140 West Picacho, Las Cruces, NM, at 3:30p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Foundation, 4100 Dripping Springs Rd., Las Cruces, NM 88011-5067.
