Birner -- Edward J. Birner, 18, a resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 1998. He was a member of the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Albuquerque, NM. Edward attended Albuquerque Public Schools and would have been a senior this year. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Avelino Reyes in 1990 and Celia Reyes in 1989; and his paternal grandmother, Romie Birner in 1963. Edward is survived by his mother, Gloria Birner of the family home in Albuquerque; and his father, Eddie Birner also of Albuquerque. Also surviving are three brothers, John of the family home, and Andrew and Chris Birner of Denver, Colorado. He is also survived by his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Birner; as well as many loving uncles, aunts, cousins and many friends. Viewing will be held Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Las Nutrias Catholic Church, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. also at the Las Nutrias Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Las Nutrias Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tony Macias, Marcos and Anthony Reyes, Eric and Pete Lovato and Sergio Douglas. Honorary Pallbearers will be Martin Ulibarri and Gabriel Reyes. Romero Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements

Botto -- Irwin J. Botto, 88, a resident of Delray Beach, Florida passed away on July 12, 1998 after a short illness. He lived most of his live in Hicksville, New York and along with his brother, Bob was the founders/owners of Botto Bros. Plumbing and Botto Bros. Hardware. Irwin was a Shriner, belonging to the Hicksville Masonic Temple. He retired and moved to Florida in 1978. Irwin is survived by his wife of ten years, Dorothy; his daughter, Aida Econopouly and husband, John of Rio Rancho, NM; six grandchildren, Glenn, Craig and Kris Econopouly of Rio Rancho, Roseanne Casella, Hunter and Roger Botto of Long Island, NY; and 14 great-grandchildren. He had a great zest for life, was a patient person and a beautiful human being. We shall all miss him, have a good journey Dad! A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 1998 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho, NM. Breeze -- Euel Wayne Breeze, 64, was born in Ryan, Oklahoma and moved to Albuquerque in 1956. He passed away suddenly Saturday, July 11, 1998 at his Conchas Lake house. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lide Wylie Breeze of Albuquerque; two sons, Barry Ruggles and wife, Debra, Bryan Ruggles and wife, Lisa; 2 daughters, Kim Carpenter and husband, Kevin, Kelly Ruggles; four grandchildren, Kory Lane Sauter, Lee Edward Sauter, Kyle Wayne Ruggles, Amanda"Sweetio" Ruggles. He is also survived by two brothers, James Breeze and wife, Pam of Redondo Beach, CA, Tom Breeze and wife Ann of Phoenix, AZ; three sisters, Coleen Breeze of Albuquerque, Shirleen Davis of Welston, OH and Diane Huckey and husband, Larry of Arkansas; many family and friends. He also had three children from a previous marriage, Larry, Wayne and Terri. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Breeze was an avid fisherman, an electrician of the IBEW 611 for 40 years, was also a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose since 1960 and served as Governor, Deputy Supreme Governor of New Mexico and received his Pilgrim degree. He was a member of the American Legion Post 49. Euel also served in the Korean War. A family viewing will take place Tuesday, July 14, 1998 at 6:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald & Sons Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle Blvd. NE. Cremation will take place. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, July 15, 1998 at 10:00 a.m. at the Loyal Order of the Moose, Chapter 1517, 2121 Edith Blvd. NE. Gateley -- O. Maxine Tidwell Gateley, 76, died Sunday, July 12, 1998. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, William R. Gateley of Albuquerque; daughter, Adrienne Joyce Gateley Smalling and husband, Jamie of Glencoe, NM; sons, William Averiel Gateley and wife, Kathy of Albuquerque; and Darrel Christopher Gateley and wife, Jane of Seattle, WA; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Wesley Tidwell of Klamath Falls, OR, and Malcom Tidwell of AZ; and sister, Nelda Hall of Albuquerque. Mrs. Gateley was born in Ballinger, TX in 1922. She moved to Albuquerque in 1934, where she resided until her death. Services will be held Wednesday, 1:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd., NE, with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating. Entombment will take place at Chester T. Guiterrez -- Sefora A. Gutierrez a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Saturday, July 11, 1998. She was born on December 25, 1910, to Julian and Gavina Apodaca. A Funeral Service will be conducted this morning at 9:00am at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Interment to follow at the San Carlos Cemetery in Alameda. Casket Bearers will be Tony Gutierrez, Joe Apodaca, Harold Apodaca, Walter Apodaca, Lee Apodaca and Luis Apodaca. Honorary Bearers will be Tomas and Jennie Apodaca. Herman -- Milton Joseph Herman, Sr., 91, died Friday July 10, 1998, in an Albuquerque hospital. Mr. Herman, a nine year resident of Albuquerque arrived in this state in 1914 and lived in Las Vegas, NM for 75 years. He married Stella A. Groth on September 17, 1928, and together they raised four children. Stella preceded Milton in death in May of 1993. Milton is survived by two daughters, Norma J. McDade, and Marilyn A. Reed; and two sons, Milton J. Herman, Jr., and Ronald W. Herman; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Milton was raised by the Goke and Fontain families and was a member of the first graduating class from Immaculate Conception High School. His early employers included Werley's Auto, Groth's Grocery Store, and Gross, Kelly and Company. Later he worked for the New York Life Insurance Company and Laubman Oil Company. He spent many hours playing the NMHU Golf Course and finished his last game at the age of 89. He also fished New Mexico's lakes and streams. A Memorial Mass will be held at Saint Bernadette's Church on Tuesday, July 21 at 9:00 a.m. A Memorial Service will be held in Las Vegas in September and the cremains of Stella and Milton will be interred there in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Lane -- Golden E. Lane, 80, passed away July 10, 1998. Services will be held Tuesday, July 14, 1998, at 10:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle Blvd, NE. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Luna -- Mrs. Rose C. Luna, age 82, passed away on Sunday, July 12. She was a member of the St. Therese Church. She is survived by her family, Frances Luna and Josie Andrade, Chano and Marcella Salazar, Henry and Perla Luna, Gene"Joe" Luna, Antonio and Nadine Briceno; two sisters, Esther and Herman Tapia and Dolores and Tony Padilla; fourteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mrs. Luna will be held on Wednesday at the St. Therese Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Louie Salazar, Ernie Salazar, Robert Salazar, Chris Briceno, Albert Luna and Michael Armijo. Visitation for Mrs. Luna will be held on Tuesday from 2:00pm until 7:00pm in the mortuary chapel. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday evening at 7:00pm at the Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 3rd St. SW.
