Mumbower -- Blossom Mumbower, 68, a resident of Farmington since 1983, died Tuesday, July 14, 1998 at San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington. Mrs. Mumbower was born January 19, 1930 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois to Dallas Phillips and Maude (Nance) Phillips. Blossom attended high school in Mt. Vernon and also graduated from there. She moved to New Mexico in 1950 and to San Juan County in 1983. Blossom married Harold Mumbower in 1949, also in Mt. Vernon. He preceded her in death in 1992. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Farmington. Blossom loved bowling and enjoyed traveling. She is survived by three sons, Ron Mumbower of Jackson, MS, Steve Mumbower of Albuquerque, and Kelly Mumbower of San Antonio, TX; a sister, JoAnn Lehde of Spring Hill, FL; a brother, Charles Phillips of Salem, IL; and six grandchildren. Friends may call at Cope Memorial Chapel, 404 W. Arrington in Farmington, Thursday, July 16, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at First Baptist Church, 511 W. Arrington in Farmington, Friday, July 17, beginning at 9:00 a.m., with her son, Dr. Ron Mumbower officiating. Graveside services will be at the Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, located at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 924 Menaul NE, in Albuquerque, beginning at 2:00 p.m., also on Friday, July 17. Entombment will follow. Pallbearers will be her sons, Ron Mumbower, Steve Mumbower, and Kelly Mumbower; grandsons, Jeremiah Mumbower, Ryan Mumbower, Alan Mumbower, Evan Mumbower, and Landon Mumbower; also a nephew, Scot Lowery. Perez -- Ramon Perez, 67, of Fort Sumner, NM, died Tuesday, July 14, 1998 at his home following an extended illness. Ramon was born February 23, 1931 in Albuquerque to the home of Ramon Perez Sr. and the former Sarah Barrio. He was reared and attended school at Vaughn, NM, where he graduated in 1951. Following graduation he worked on the family ranch, east of Vaughn. He operated the Hubbel Ranch at Quemado, NM from 1969-1977. Ramon married Deanna L. Marcilla on August 15, 1970. Ramon and Deanna returned to the family ranch, east of Vaughn from 1977 until 1988, when they moved to Fort Sumner. Ramon was a member of the NM Wool Growers Assn., NM Cattle Growers, Farm Bureau, and a 4-H leader. He was a lifelong Catholic and a member of St. Anthony Parish in Fort Sumner. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Carmen Perez Alonzo in 1993. Survivors include his wife, Deanna Perez of the home in Fort Sumner; two daughters, Nicole Perez of the family home and Laree Perez Losey of Corrales, NM; a son, Frank Perez of Albuquerque. Also surviving are two sisters, Alice Perez of Vaughn, NM and Anna Osle of Albuquerque; one brother, Albert Perez and his wife, Corrine of Vaughn, NM; a brother-in-law, Manolo Alonzo of Vaughn, NM. Other survivors include several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Thursday, 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the Chavez Funeral Home. Rosary services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 17, 1998 from St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, July 18, 1998, from the church with Father Anthony Bolman, Celebrant of the Mass. Burial will follow at Fort Sumner Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Jack Achen, Lewis Hisel, Charlie Overton, Jim Koontz, James West, Paul Horney, Nick Cortese, Dick Byrd, Ty Earl Powell, Alex Gazolas, Michael Harriet, Jim Williams, R.J. Cook, and Jerry Gonzales. Honorary bearers will include Ralph Lund, Walter Overton, Allen Doak, Buddy Cortese, Cecil West, Red West, Johnny Muno, Louie Erramuspe, Roc Mark, J.O. Achen, Knox Cortese, Jack Lucero, John Josser, Henry Saiz, Bob Ratliff, and all his many friends and neighbors. A memorial fund has been established at Citizens Bank, P.O. Reynolds -- Edward L. Reynolds was born May 20, 1970 in Columbus, Ohio to Edward and Clara E. Reynolds (deceased). Edward graduated from Eldorado High School in 1988. Edward became a member of the Israeli Church of Universal Practical Knowledge in 1991. During his seven years with the church, Edward became a nationally recognized priest and biblical scholar and lectured at many universities and high schools throughout the country. His belief in the World of God is illustrated in his life by his tireless example and zealous endeavor to bring Blacks and Hispanics to be one with the Lord. As a black activist, prophet, teacher, father, husband, brother, and friend to all he met, Edward L. Reynolds will most assuredly be remembered as an important figure of Black History and Progress. Edward also left an example to the business community by helping form Total Quality Management Security, which became one of the most competitive security companies in the southwest, working with many famous names and faces. He is survived by is father, Edward Reynolds; sister, Lisa Reynolds; and brother, Terrance, all of Albuquerque; and brother, Randy of Danville, IL. He also left to mourn three daughters, Sharahya, Ebony and Napashya; and a son, Isaac, in addition to two children, which preceded him in death, Willa and Banshanya, all of Albuquerque; maternal grandmother, Roxie Sorrell of Danville, IL. Also surviving is a host of relatives and friends. Visitation will be Friday, July 17, 1998, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Hillcrest Funeral Home. Roberts -- On July 15, 1998, Richard James Roberts of 1625 Fornax Rd., Rio Rancho, NM, went on to be with the Lord. His wife, Ceridwen; his three sons, Rick, Tom and Keith; and his four grandchildren, Ricky, Renee, Steven and Timothy survive him, as well as nephews, Daniel and Michael; and his niece, Patricia, from Vermont. Born and raised in Poultney, Vermont, Dick joined the Marine Corps at age 17, where he served in the South, Central, Pacific area for three years. His unit received several citations for bravery during the battle of Munda and the New Georgia group campaign. After service, he graduated from Castleton State Teachers College in Vermont and Colombia University in New York City. Dick was a proud member of American Legion Post 118. He taught emotionally disturbed children at the Boy's Home in New York. He wrote poetry, short stories and sang for the American Theater Wing in New York. He donated his time and talent to charity. He moved to New Mexico in 1978, became an avid golfer and Lobo fan. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 53 years; by his three sons who loved him dearly; and his four grandchildren. Sanchez -- Dominica Sanchez, 84, beloved mother, grandmother and sister, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 1998. Mrs. Sanchez was a lifelong resident of New Mexico; she was born on July 9, 1914; a parishioner of San Jose Catholic Church. She is survived by five sons, Victor and wife, Susie, Ralph, both of Firebaugh, CA, Lawrence, Dickie, Max and wife, Lori, all of Albuquerque; four daughters, Dolores Maestas and husband, Alfonso, Dora Garcia and husband, Lawrence, both of Albuquerque, Helen Sanchez of Madera, CA, Catalina Sanchez of Santa Clara, CA; 26 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Maria Lucero, Rita Lopez, Margaret Pena and husband, Freddie, Georgia Sena and Lenora Lopez, all of Albuquerque; one brother, Ramon Lopez also of Albuquerque; and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. Visitations will be today, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited this evening, 7:00 p.m., at San Jose Catholic Church, 2401 Broadway SE, Albuquerque. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, 10:00 a.m., also at the church. Interment will follow at San Jose Catholic Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Freddie Pena, Joe Salas, Anthony Contreras Sr., Anthony Contreras Jr., Leroy Gonzales and Dickie Sanchez. Sers -- Catherine Sers, 63, a resident of Melrose, LA, formerly of Albuquerque, died Monday, July 13, 1998. Survivors include her husband, Sylvester Sers; two daughters, Marie McDaniel and Sylvia LaCour of Melrose, LA; grandchildren, Dominick Metoyer, Gabriel McDaniel and Blaise LaCour; sisters, Barbara Moran of Shreveport, LA, Rose Helen Metoyer of Rogersville, TN, Agatha Severin of Chicago, IL, and JoAnn LaCour of New Orleans, LA; brothers, Joseph LaCour of Detroit, MI, James V. LaCour of Albuquerque, and Julius LaCour of New Orleans, LA. She was a retired supervisor at K-Mart in Albuquerque; was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Albuquerque for many years; a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and the Confraternity of Christian Mothers in Melrose, LA.
