Cadena -- Mr. Abie Cadena died Sunday in Albuquerque at the age of 57. Mr. Cadena is survived by his sisters, Dolores Lopez and Lupe Cadena; uncle, Joe Cadena; and many nieces and nephews. Cassidy -- Steven Howard Cassidy, 40, a resident of Albuquerque since 1962, died Thursday, October 19, 2000, after a long illness. He is survived by his parents, Ed and Patricia"Pat" Cassidy of Albuquerque; uncles, Thomas Howard and wife, Linda of Palentine, IL, Joe Cassidy and wife, Joanne of Gurnee, IL, Henry Cassidy and wife, Susan of Arlington, VA, Thomas Cassidy and wife, Nancy of Geneva, IL, Gerald Cassidy and wife, Helen of Round Lake, IL and Paul Cassidy of Aurora, IL; great-aunt, Maud Gillings of Russell, IL, and Irene Hegy of Hartford, WI; and several cousins. Steven was the only child of Ed and Patricia"Pat" Cassidy. His father was retired from Sandia National Labs and his mother was a former two-term Bernalillo County Commissioner. Steven graduated from Queen of Heaven Grade School, St. Pius X High School with honors, and received his Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts-Art Studio from the University of New Mexico. In spite of his Multiple Sclerosis, he still managed to be involved with art. He was a member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church where he had served in the past as a eucharistic minister. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Deacon Ruben Barela reciting. Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5810 Claremont Ave. NE, with Father Johnny Lee Chavez and Deacon Pilar Garcia, Celebrants. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jackie Rolfe, Greg Rolfe, Kevin Rolfe, Louise Chavez, Les Shope and Henry Cassidy. Cole -- Terry Lee Cole, 38, a resident of Albuquerque since 1970, died on Sunday, October 22, 2000 at his home in Rio Rancho. He is survived by his wife, Debbie; daughters, Samatha Cole and Jordan Cole of Rio Rancho; parents; Tom and Vanna Cole of Albuquerque; sister, Sheri Eshleman and husband Billy of Clovis, NM; brothers, Skip Cole and wife, Anna of Albuquerque and Danny Cole and wife, Nancye of Bosque Farms; mother-in-law, Mimi Rigg of Las Vegas, NV; sister-in-laws, Brenda ONeal of Albuquerque and Victoria Windham of Las Vegas, NV; brother-in-laws, Wes ONeal of Albuquerque and Gary Windham of Las Vegas, NV; nieces and nephews, Jacque and John Eshleman, Jason, Eric, Crystal and Alexus, Michael, Shayla, Tiffany and Alex Cole, Katie, Ryan and Jillian Burke, Joshua ONeal and Taylor Windham. Elkins -- M.G. Garvin Elkins, 83, a resident of Albuquerque, died on Sunday, October 22, 2000. He is survived by his son, Richard G. DickElkins and wife, Jessica Lynn of Albuquerque; foster children, Kenneth Elkins of Houston, TX and Jeanette Grisham and husband, Raymond of Amarillo, TX; grandchildren, Major R. Greg Elkins U.S. Air Force and wife, Susan of Altus, OK and Claire Lyn Uman and husband, Jon of Gainsville, FL; great-grandchildren, Allison, Ben and Will Elkins, Sara, Hunter, and Summer Uman; three sisters; one brother and many other family members. Mr. Elkins was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Cleo L. Elkins. He dearly loved his family and had a tremendous impact on Boys as a scoutmaster in Pampa, TX. Mr. Elkins was active at First Christian Church in Amarillo and also was dedicated to theDowntown Lions Club of Amarillo. Services will be held on Friday, October 27, 2000 in Amarillo, TX. Espinosa -- Mr. Gilbert L. Espinosa Sr. died Sunday at the age of 59. Mr. Espinosa was a Vietnam veteran and served in the U. S. Navy. He went on to work as a firefighter with the Albuquerque Fire Department. He was also a member of the American Legion. Mr. Espinosa is survived by his wife, Lucille Espinosa; sons, Gilbert L. Espinosa Jr., and wife, Louise, and Vidal Espinosa and wife, Jeanette; brothers, Edward Espinosa and Vidal Espinosa Jr.; sisters, Mabel Chavez and husband, Emilio and Margaret Gonzales and husband, John; grandchildren, Vincent Espinosa, Andrew Espinosa, Rebecca Espinosa, Julia Espinosa and Anthony Espinosa; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Gyore -- David Louis Gyore passed away on October 19, 2000. He was 57 years old. David moved from Long Island, NY to Albuquerque in 1981. He lived in Albuquerque from 1981-1986. While living in Albuquerqe David worked for Matco Tools. David was residing in Rancho Cucamonga, CA when he passed on. He is survived by his wife, Lynn Gyore; brother, Bill Gyore; sons, Gary Gyore and Paul Gyore; daughter, Jennifer Bailey, grandchildren, Kathryn Gyore, Zoey Bailey and Ryan Gyore. Hanks -- Edith Hanks, 82, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2000. She is survived by her husband Gale Hanks; two sons, Kenneth Hanks and wife, Andrea, and Jerry Hanks and wife, BJ; seven grandchildren, Christina Tuller, Benjamin Hanks, Ronald Hanks, Christopher Hanks, Brian Hanks, all of Albuquerque, Patrick Hanks of Bozeman, MT and Tracey Hanks of Denver, CO; great-grandchildren, Angelia Tuller, Jonah Hanks and Sydney Hanks; and great-great-granddaughter, Amber Romero. Edith was preceded in death by her father and mother, Henry and Minnie Wohlers; sisters, Ruth Wohlers, Florence Ball, and Palma Eschenbrenner; brothers, Herman, Clarence and Albert Wohlers. She was born Edith Helen Wohlers to Henry and Minnie Wohlers on April 7, 1918 in Crawford, NE. Edith attended grade school at a country school near the Wohlers farm and ranch at Squaw Mound near Crawford. She attended high school in Crawford and graduated with the Class of 1935. After high school, Edith attended Chadron State Teachers College in Chadron and later became a successful rural schoolteacher in Dawes County, NE. In 1940, Edith married Gale Hanks of Crawford and the young couple moved to Philadelphia, PA. From there, she and her husband and family moved to Denver, CO. When World War II broke out, her husband left to serve in the U.S. Navy, she moved the rest of her family back to the Wohlers farm in Nebraska, where she helped her parents until her husbands return. After the war, Edith and family lived in both Crawford and McGill, NV, before moving to Los Alamos, NM in 1949. Edith, Gale and the children lived in Los Alamos for more than 30 years, where her husband was an engineer for Los Alamos National Laboratory. After Los Alamos, Edith and Gale moved to Albuquerque in 1989. Edith was a loving wife and mother. Memorial services will be held Thursday, October 26, 2000, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel,10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Holloman -- James W. Holloman died, Sunday October 22, 2000 at his home in Logan, NM. He was born November 10, 1920 in Quay, NM. Mr. Holloman owned ABC Cleaners and Laundry in Albuquerque, NM for over 30 years; Country Cleaners in Bosque Farms, NM. for 25 years; Sunshine Cleaners in Belen, NM. He was a member of Moose Lodge #1517 in Albuquerque, NM., active in square dancing in Albuquerque, NM. where he served in local, district, and state offices. Mr. Holloman served on the state dry cleaning board and was a member of VFW Post 49 in Albuquerque, NM. Mr. Holloman served in the US Navy in World War II. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Logan, NM. Mr. Holloman is survived by his wife, Loretta; one son, Jimmy D. Holloman and wife, Teri of Bosque Farms, NM.; two daughters, Barbra J. Morgan of Logan and Linda K. Bush and husband, Curtis of Gainesville, FL.; seven step-children, Pam Wright of Yukon, OK., Joe burns of Oklahoma City, OK., Benny Burns of Vandalia, IL., Terry Burns of Tonkawa, OK., Johnny Burns of Tonkawa, OK., Eddie Burns of Piedmont, OK., and Barbara Bradway of Elgin, OK.; James is survived by one brother, Donald Holloman of Logan, NM.; and one aunt, Catherine Weaver and husband, Herman of Albuquerque; also survived by 21 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. The family request in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the building fund of First Baptist Church of Logan, NM or Helping Hands Hospice of Tucumcari, NM. Mr. Holloman's wishes are being honored by cremation through Dunn's Funeral home. Memorial services are pending.
