Smith -- Lois L Smith, 75, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died on Friday, October 20, 2000 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Lois is survived by her daughters, June Cash and husband, Robert of Indianapolis, IN. and Judy R Smith of McLean, VA; son, Duane Smith and wife, Caroline Gupton of Temple, TX; grandchildren, Jay Miller, Deanna Miller, Ian Groves and wife, Yvette, Kirsty Archuleta and husband, Daniel, and Nicole Smith; great-granddaughter, Shay Lee Archuleta. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, V. Keith Smith in 1998. Lois was a longtime member of St. Johns United Methodist Church. She was past president of the SANADO Women's club as well as the Chapter Apple. Nancy. of Paul. Edward. Oscar. Sisterhood. Ms. Smith was active in many organizations including the Tumbleweeds RV group and several Bridge clubs. Steiner -- Margaret H. Steiner, 68, a 25 year resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday October 22, 2000. Margaret ("Maggie") was born on April 23, 1932 and lived in West New York and Toms River, NJ. She was preceded in death by her father, Edward J. Roth and sister, Mildred"Miggsy" Bonavita. Margaret is survived by her daughters, Laurie Baca and husband, Phillip Baca of Albuquerque, Nancy Betzen and husband, Matthew Betzen of Unalaska, AK., and Susan Turnbull and husband, Guillermo Turnbull of Anchorage, AK.; grandchildren, Christopher Steiner, Carly Barron, Brandy Turnbull and Noah Betzen; mother, Grace Roth of Albuquerque; uncle, the Reverend Robert Roth, SJ, of Fordham University, N.Y.; sisters, Dorothy Roth of North Ft. Wallace -- Leonard R. Wallace, 82, a resident of New Mexico for 37 years, died Saturday, October 21, 2000. He is survived by his daughter, Lynne Lovejoy of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Dana Hubbard and husband, Bob of Sauquoit, NY and Debra Johnson of Brooklyn, NY; great-grandson, Joshua Gage of Sedona, AZ; great-granddaughter, Molly Frances Hubbard of Sauquoit , NY; brothers, Cecil Wallace and wife, Deanie of Tyler, TX and Luther Wallace and wife, Gertrude of Anthony, NM; and sister, Lula Snow of Oklahoma. Mr. Wallace was preceded in death by his wife, Inez Wallace. He was a member of First United Methodist Church; and was a member of The NAACP. Bowen -- Lois J. Bowen, 59, passed away suddenly at her home in Corrales on October 23, 2000. She was born in Falls Church, VA. on August 27, 1941 to the late Alphonse and Lucy (Moore) LaValley. She was the office manager the family-owned Franklin's Earthmoving Company and very active with her horses in the Corrales area. She is survived by her husband, William Bowen, of Corrales; one daughter, Cecilia Boyer and her husband, Duane; one granddaughter, Brianna Boyer, all of Albuquerque; four sisters, Suzanne Russell and her husband, Gayle, of Memphis, TN., Helen Skinner and her husband, Mitch, of Hampton, NH., Margaret LaValley of Florida, Mary Williamson and her husband, Donald, of Albuquerque; one brother, Greg LaValley, of Belen, NM; three nieces, Christine Russell, Samantha Sumner, and Melissa Fiedler; and four nephews, Chris Sumner, Mark Fiedler, J.M. Cassidy -- Steven Howard Cassidy, 40, a resident of Albuquerque since 1962, died Thursday, October 19, 2000, after a long illness. He is survived by his parents, Ed and Patricia"Pat" Cassidy of Albuquerque; uncles, Thomas Howard and wife, Linda of Palentine, IL, Joe Cassidy and wife, Joanne of Gurnee, IL, Henry Cassidy and wife, Susan of Arlington, VA, Thomas Cassidy and wife, Nancy of Geneva, IL, Gerald Cassidy and wife, Helen of Round Lake, IL and Paul Cassidy of Aurora, IL; great-aunt, Maud Gillings of Russell, IL, and Irene Hegy of Hartford, WI; and several cousins. Steven was the only child of Ed and Patricia"Pat" Cassidy. His father was retired from Sandia National Labs and his mother was a former two-term Bernalillo County Commissioner. Steven graduated from Queen of Heaven Grade School, St. Pius X High School with honors, and received his Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts-Art Studio from the University of New Mexico. In spite of his Multiple Sclerosis, he still managed to be involved with art. He was a member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church where he had served in the past as a eucharistic minister. Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5810 Claremont Ave. NE, with Father Johnny Lee chavez and Deacon Ruben Barela Celebrants. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jackie Rolfe, Greg Rolfe, Kevin Rolfe, Louise Chavez, Les Shope and Henry Cassidy.
