Spaeth -- Rose M. Spaeth, 74, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2001. Rose was born on April 24, 1926, in Melrose, Minnesota. She is survived by her husband, Mel J. Spaeth; three daughters, Layne Spaeth of Glendale, Arizona, Linda Styler and Pamela Byrne of Rio Rancho; and two sons, Johnny Spaeth of Rio Rancho, and Charles Spaeth of Tempe, Arizona; four sisters, Hilda Black of Osakis, MN, Val Patterson of Indianapolis, IN, Clara Stadther of Sauk Centre, MN, Winnie Sarrack of St. Paul, MN; two brothers, Norb Koch, Eagan, MN and Bernie Koch of Alexandria, MN; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Thurston -- Wayne K. Thurston, 82, a resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on February 6, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Georgiana; sons, Wayne O. Thurston and his wife, Peggy, Michael William and his wife, Natalie; stepsons, Robert Holcomb and his wife, Sandra, Richard Holcomb and his wife, Karen; stepdaughter, Elizabeth Mills; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Wayne was a member of the Albuquerque Kiwanis Club and received the Hixon Award for his outstanding service. A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 811 Guaymas Place, NE, Albuquerque, NM 87108 on Wednesday, February 4, 2001 at 1:00 p.m., celebrated by Father Louis Jaramillo. Valenzuela -- Rumaldo C. Valenzuela, 87, a resident of Albuquerque for 24 years, died on Thursday, February 8, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Gladys Valenzuela of Albuquerque; daughters, Josie Mitchell and Blackie Scott and husband, Terry; grandson, Dale Fogle, granddaughters, Ginger Ulibarri and husband, Dwayne, and Shelley Baca and husband, Brandon, all of Albuquerque, and great-grandchildren, Rebecca and Dru Taylor. Weidman -- Robert V. Weidman, 79 a resident of Albuquerque since 1981, passed away on February 9, 2001. Mr. Weidman is survived by his daughters, Donna I. Gregor and husband, Thomas, Sr. of Newton, PA, Lynn J. Longobardi and husband, Al, Irene"Cyndi" A. Bass and husband, Albert, and Jill D. Weidman and Inge Moller all of Albuquerque, NM; sons, Kurt R. Weidman of Bronx, NY and Barry C. Weidman of Newtown, PA; grandchildren, Tami, Vinny, Kim - aka "Poppy's Elf", Tom Jr., Christina, Angela, Jennifer, James and Dawn; great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, Johnnie boy, Noah, Lucas, and Alyssa. Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Irene Ellen Mary Weidman and daughter, Pennie"Sugarplum" Daleo. He served during WWII as a T. Sgt. in the U.S. Air Force receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross, 11 Air Medals and Distinguished Unit Citation. He retired as a N.Y. City Policeman after 20 years of service in 1969. Worden -- Mildred Ginther Worden, 83, a resident of Albuquerque for 43 years reluctantly passed from this life on February 7, 2001. She is survived by husband, Oren; daughter and best friend, Ann Roche; sister, Evelyn Sage of Loveland, CO; aunt, Helen Scholand of Hilton, NY; and several cousins. She was born in Adams Basin, NY and graduated from the University of Rochester, Rochester, NY with a B.A. and a M.Ed. She was active in the Republican party for many years, was a Board member and Officer of the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra for six years, and for many years was a member and Board Officer of the League of Women Voters. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Women's Golf Association of Four Hills Country Club and ABCL Bridge Club. She enjoyed golf and bridge, not just for the sport, but for her many delightful partners. Cremation has taken place and a Private Burial Service will be held at Garland Rural Cemetery, Garland, NY. Young -- S. Beatrice (Bea) Young. March 10, 1928 - February 6, 2001. Survived by husband of 53 years, C. Bennett (Ben) Young; brother and sister-in-law, Jason and Virginia Preston of Wayne, NE; children, Preston and Penny Young of DeSoto, Kansas, Anna and Michael Judernatz of Omaha, NE, Angie and Ed Buckspan of Broken Arrow, OK and Charles and Lisa Young of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren, Derby and Morgan Young, Jeremy and Daniel Judernatz, David and Allen Buckspan, and Megan Morong. She was loved and admired by all she met and knew. After moving to Los Lunas, NM from Omaha, NE in 1985, Bea became involved in activities at Monte Vista Christian Church and was always involved in the choir. Bea and Ben also danced every Friday with the Bosque Cuadrillas Square Dance Club in Belen and attended many square dance festivals and conventions. She had many talents with fabrics and her favorite, late in life, was spinning wool into many colored yarns. She would always finish up with her own creations of woven and knitted articles of scarves and clothing. She will be truly missed but always loved by her family and many friends. A Memorial Service is scheduled Sunday, February 11, 2001, 3:00 p.m. at Monte Vista Christian Church, 3501 Campus Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Monte Vista Memorial Fund or the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
