CHOTE -- Mary E.Chote,born November 11,1924, a former resident of Honolulu,HI, for 35 years, peacefully passed away on November 14,2009 in Albuq, NM. Mrs. Chote was a long time Kailua High School swim coach and member of the Hawaii Yacht Club. She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Vawter and granddaughter, Malia Phillips; daughter Patty Puhl, son-in-law Ricky, their children Sarah, Lindsey and Mack and beloved granddog, Fritzie. She is also survived by her Hanai daughter, Cinny Shaw. Ashes will be scattered into the ocean off Waimanalo Beach in a private ceremony.

EDER -- John D. Eder passed away November 12, 2009. John was born November 11, 1947 in Spokane, Washington. John earned his BA in Sociology from Kent State University. John worked as a volunteer teaching assistant at Mark Twain Elementary School working with kindergarten and first grade students. John's other passions included Democratic Party politics, casino gaming, and enjoying dining and entertainment with friends. John's parents Dr. Gerald and Sophie Eder preceded him in death. His cousin Robert Schweich and wife Monique, his closest friends Doug Grayson, Brian Mazer, David Nidel, and students and staff at Mark Twain Elementary School fondly remember him. A memorial service will be held at the home of Brian Mazer, 1600 Kentucky St. NE on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 7:00 p.m.

EVANS -- Dorothy L. Evans, 88, passed away on November 14, 2009. She was a member of Sandia Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir and was a moderator of Presbyterian Women. She was a past president of the Beta Master Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. She loved to play bridge and was an avid reader. She was preceded in death by her husband Major David Evans Jr. She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Kerr; a son David Evans III and wife Carol Paris; and a niece, Susan Broderick. A memorial service will be held at Sandia Presbyterian Church on Friday, November 20, 2009 at 11:00. Burial will take place at a later time at Fort Bliss in El Paso.

GALLEGOS -- Joseph "Joey" Jeremy Gallegos, 20, resident of Albuquerque, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2009. He is survived by his father, Joe Gallegos and wife, Elena; mother, Jodelle Willoughby; step-father, Tracy Willoughby; siblings, Jazmine and Tyler Willoughby, and Angus and Stevie Ray Gallegos; girlfriend, Jasmine; grandparents, Leo Maestas, Sally Maestas, Richard and Arsenia Gallegos, and Jim and Cookie Willoughby; great-grandmother, Frances Gallegos; aunts, Tamara Pacheco, Anita Large, Tami Miller, and Lorraine Willoughby; uncles, Anthony Gallegos, Gabriel Large, Tom Pacheco, Glenn Willoughby, and Darren Miller; and several other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mayumi Willougby; and great-grandparents, Gilbert and Rose Gutierrez, and Herman Gallegos, Alfredo and Casianita Gonzales. Joey loved everyone he knew. He was passionate about life and his music. He was a Dallas Cowboy fan and loved his dogs. Joey was strong willed and good hearted. His family and friends will love him for ever and ever. GARCIA -- Joe Anthony (Tony) Garcia Jr., 52, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on November 15, 2009. Tony is survived by his son, Anthony (Bud) Garcia and wife, Pamela; his Parents, Joe and Julia Garcia; his girlfriend, Margie Gonzales; his siblings, Corrina Garcia and boyfriend, Michael Lopez, Vince Garcia Sr. and wife, Janice, Cathy Ramirez and husband, Lencho, Lorraine Connor and husband, Dave, Christina Garcia and fiance, Omar Ortega, Sandy Vallejos and fiance, Candy Torres, and Roxanne Garcia; and MANY aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. GRIEGO -- Lt. Col. Orlando H. Griego (Toti), retired Army, (71) was born in Albuquerque, NM, (April 10, 1938 - November 15, 2009). He was preceded in death by his parents Fred Baca Griego and Maria Dolores C. Griego; and brothers, Fred B. Griego Jr., Robert E. Griego, and William G. Griego. He is survived by his sister, F. Judith Griego-Ruth and husband Bob Ruth; brothers, Raymond A. Griego, Rudolph S. Griego and wife Lolli Griego, and Fred Griego III. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Gutirrez Griego; his children, H. Yvette Griego, Astra Stevens and husband Phillip Stevens, Natalie Griego and husband Norbert Chavez, Orlando H. Griego Jr., M. Jude Griego and his wife, Noelle Griego, Nicole Saunders, Mariana Griego and Yolanda Bush of Denver, Co. He will be truly missed by his grandchildren: Dana Sanchez and husband Raymond Sanchez III, S. Jade, Rosendo, and J. Jacqueline Garcia, Mathew and Jordan Chavez, Corey and Jerel Stevens, Isabella Griego; and great-grandson Raymond Sanchez IV, as well as identical twins due in June. Lt. Col. Orlando Griego served his country in the Vietnam War and in Desert Storm. He was also a US Postal worker in Albuquerque, and since 1970 he has resided in and has been a business owner in El Paso, TX. There will be a visitation from 5:00-7:00p.m. with a rosary beginning at 7:00p.m. on Thursday November 19, 2009 at the Sunset Funeral Home (4631 Hondo Pass; ElPaso, Tx 79904). The funeral mass will be on Friday November 20, 2009 at 10:00a.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Church (9025 Diana Dr.; El Paso, Tx. 79904). The burial will follow at 11:00 at the Fort Bliss National Cemetary. Lt. Col. Orlando Griego will be buried with full military honors. The family will also be having a memorial service and reception in ABQ in the near future; details are fothcoming and will be published.
