Sanchez -- Mr. Tom A. Sanchez, age 58, died Friday. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Maynes; sons, Thomas A. and wife, Loretta R. Sanchez, Timothy A. and wife, Lori A.; daughter, Debra D. Larribas and husband, Edward Larribas, Jr.; sisters, Katie Chavez, Helen Lovato and husband, Faustino, Marcella Quintana and husband, Joe and Isabel Sanchez; and five grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Sanchez will be held on Monday, March 30, 1998 at St. Anne's Catholic Church where Mass will be at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dave Dominguez, Johny Pacheco, Pat Apodaca, Steve Apodaca, Gino Waldorf and Larry Chavez. Schiff -- Congressman Steve Schiff, 51, a resident of Albuquerque since 1969, died Wednesday, March 25, 1998. He is survived by his wife, Marcia; children, Jaimi and Daniel; mother, Helen Bjerke of Oceanside, CA; brothers, Maurice Schiff and wife, Sharon of West Hills, CA, and Gordon Schiff of Chicago, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews. Congressman Schiff received his B.A. in Political Science at the University of Illinois in Chicago in 1968, and his J.D. at the University of New Mexico Law School in 1972. He was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives since 1989. He served as District Attorney of Bernalillo County from 1981-1988; was Assistant Albuquerque City Attorney and Counsel for Albuquerque Police and Fire Departments 1979-1981; was a trial attorney in private practice; and previously was Assistant District Attorney of Bernalillo County 1972-1977. Congressman Schiff served in the NM Air National Guard over 20 years, and retired in 1997 as a Colonel in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. He was a member of Civitan International, the Fraternal Order of Police, was a former President of the Albuquerque Lodge of B'nai B'rith, and was a member of Congregation Albert for over 25 years. Services will be held Monday, March 30, 1998, at 10:00 a.m., at Congregation Albert, 3800 Louisiana Blvd. NE, with Rabbi Joseph R. Black officiating. Interment will follow at Congregation Albert Cemetery, Fairview Memorial Park, 700 Yale SE, Albuquerque, NM. The family will receive guests Monday, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Congregation Albert, 3800 Louisiana Blvd. NE. Snell -- Roy L."Pete" Snell, 70, an Albuquerque resident since 1951, died Thursday, March 26, 1998. Mr. Snell is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Snell of the family home; sons, Lee Roy Snell and wife, Joanne of Chesapeake, VA, Walter Earl Snell and wife, Wen of Los Angeles, CA, and William Lacy Snell and wife, Laurie of Albuquerque; daughters, Patricia Robertson and husband, Marty of Tijeras, NM, and Barbara Vaughn and husband, Jim of Prewitt, NM; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; sisters, Bobbie Horne of Concord, CA, and Velma Milton and husband, Tom of Marshall, TX; and numerous other family and friends. He was a member of Hiram Lodge #13, A.F. & A.M. and of Adah Chapter #5, Order of the Eastern Star. Mr. Snell retired from PNM Gas Company in 1986. Vasquez -- Rebecca O. Vasquez, 74, a resident of Albuquerque since 1943, died Friday, March 27, 1998. She is survived by her son, Bert Vasquez of Albuquerque; daughters, Susan Gaxiola and husband, Rene, Martha Rasmusson and husband, Joseph, and Rachel Martinez and husband, Jerome, all of Albuquerque; step-daughter, Mary Baldomar and husband, Richard; grandchildren, Gabriel Gaxiola and wife, Valerie, Rebecca Rasmusson, Jerome Jr., Arianna, and Jacob"J.J." Balbo -- Amber Leigh Balbo,"Our Little Angel", born Friday, February 27, 1998, infant daughter of Eric and Regina Balbo of Kirtland Air Force Base, passed away Thursday, March 26, 1998. Candelaria -- Mr. Phil L. Candelaria, age 93, died Saturday. Mr Candelaria was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in WWII. He is survived by his son, Phil P. Candelaria and wife, Mary Jane; sister, Marcella Aragon and husband, Louie; and grandchildren, Phil A. Candelaria and Lucinda M. Candelaria.
