Obituary for Sanchez

Anna Maria Sanchez, beloved aunt passed away on December 3, 2001 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 22, 1910 in Barelas, NM. Her parents, Don Luis Sanchez y Castillo and mother, Anna Maria Garcia y Sanchez preceded her in death. Anna, better known as"Miss Sanchez" to her beloved students was a public school teacher who taught for more than 40 years. Her teaching career began in a humble one room school house in San Antonio, NM. It ended at East San Jose Elementary in 1972. She was a devoted daughter and aunt who helped her parents, sisters, brothers, nephews and nieces throughout her life. She was a member of Holy Family Church who with her sisters worked willing, adorning the church with her beautiful irises from their family farm on Sunset Rd. She also made vestments for the alter boys and crocheted and embroidered alter cloths for her church. Anna will be deeply missed by her loving family. She is survived by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sanchez of Albuquerque, Mr. and Mrs. Polo Sanchez of Riverside, CA, Mr. and Mrs. Antonio Montoya of Albuquerque, Mr. and Mrs. Gutierrez (Lena) of Albuquerque, Mrs. Rosalia Continola of Albuquerque, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Sanchez of Santa Fe, NM, Mr. Avilio Sanchez of New York City, NY, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Sanchez of CA, Mrs."Dolly" Sanchez y Rivera of Albuquerque, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Sanchez of Corrales, NM, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ray Sanchez of Albuquerque, Mr. John D. Sanchez of Albuquerque, Mr. Jerry Sanchez of Albuquerque, Mr. and Mrs. Buster Donley (Cecilia) of Denver, CO, Mr. and Mrs. Danny Rios (Rosie) of Houston, TX, Mr. and Mrs. David Eyres (Annie) of Sacramento, CA, Mr. and Mrs. Carmen Garcia (Priscilla) of Albuquerque, Mr. and Mrs. Louie Gallegos (Ellen) of Albuquerque, Mrs. Margaret Sanchez of Albuquerque and her very special little niece, Grace Parsons of the family home. Visitations will be held Wednesday, December 5, 2001 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Stover Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church. Final viewing will take place on Thursday, December 6, 2001 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe Sanchez, Jay Jay Sanchez, Adam Sanchez, James Sanchez, Jerry Sanchez and Carmen Garcia. Services are in the care of Garcia Mortuary, 717 Stover Ave. SW 243-5222.
