Obituary for Herrera

Ismael Lloyd Herrera, 72, passed away at his home in Canoncito de las Manuelitas on Wednesday, November 28, 2001. He was born September 25, 1929 to Macario and Natividad Herrera. Lloyd was united in marriage to Aurora Herrera in 1952 in Las Vegas. He was a retired principal for the Albuquerque Public Schools, and also served as County Commissioner for San Miguel County. Lloyd was a lifelong Catholic. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson and is survived by his wife Aurora; his son Jesse Herrera and wife Elaine; two daughters Yvonne Herrera and Lolanda Anna Soloman and her companion Manny Ortiz; grandsons Shamash Crawford and wife Kim, Joaquin Lucero and Sean Herrera; two granddaughters Janel and Clarissa Herrera; two great grandsons Drew and Chase Crawford; two brothers Joe Herrera and Henry Herrera. Services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, NM. A rosary will be recited at 7:00pm on Sunday, December 2, 2001. Father Vincent De Fazio will celebrate a mass of Christian burial on Monday, December 3, 2001 at 10:00am, with burial following at the Canoncito de las Manuelitas Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Leonard Romero, Rudy Madrid, Benjie Torres, Macario Herrera, Hank Herrera, Jake Chavez and Dean Miera. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Crawford, Dan Gonzales and Ralph Carrillo. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th ST. NW. Albuquerque. 505-343-8008.
