Obituary for Wernke

Robert C. (Bob) Wernke Sr., age 81, a resident of Albuquerque since 1959 passed on November 22, 2001. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Eulalie (Lee); sons, Robert Jr. and wife, Sherry, Rolland and wife, Beth; daughters, Bernadette Kidman, Rosalie Wernke all who reside in Albuquerque; two brothers, Roland (Bud) and Raymond (Ray) both of Indiana; brothers and sisters-in-law, Albert Rust, IN, Jody and Al Small, MS, Mildred Lowden, IN; Louise Day, AZ; Benny and Mildred Rust, TX; Josephine and Roy Rogers, TX; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Bob was born in Indianapolis, IN on September 25, 1920. He served in the military with the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired in 1979 after 25 years of service in the U.S. Post Office (garage). He was a member of Santuario De San Martin Church. Visitation will be Monday November 26, 2001 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary following at 7:00 p.m. in the Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary 1100 Coal Ave SE. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, November 27, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. in Santuario De San Martin Church 8321 Camino San Martin SW with Fr. Vance officiating. Interment to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. He was truly loved and will be deeply missed. Strong-Thorne Mortuary is in charge of his arrangements.
