Obituary for Starr

Elmer Charles Starr, 93, a resident of Albuquerque since 1934, died Monday, May 21, 2001. He is survived by his children, Betty and Leon Wiley, Bonnie and Cliff Everett, Judy Starr and Jeanette and Jim Brenholdt; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathryn; and his second wife, Josephine. As was a general contractor, he was involved in much of the early development and beautification of New Mexico roads, parks and monuments, such as Carlsbad Caverns, Los Alamos National Labs and Capulin Mt. In his later years, he was an artful competitor of Omaha at the Sandia Casino. He was especially grateful for the kind attention he received at the restaurant where he had breakfast. Thanks to all who knew him for your kind thoughts and fond memories. Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, 11:00 a.m., at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE, with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE Wednesdsay, 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
