Obituary for Teague

Virginia Moon Teague, age 93 of Albuquerque, NM and former Altus, OK, resident, died Saturday, May 19, 2001 in Albuquerque. She was born July 29, 1907 in Tulsa, OK, to James Noah and Sarah Elizabeth (Bolton) Moon. She attended Pleasant Point, Altus High School, and graduated in 1925, attended Southwestern University in the summer, returned to Altus where she enrolled in and graduated from Altus Business School. She had lived in Tulsa, Altus and Albuquerque, but spent most of her life in Altus. She married P. Oxford Teague February 12, 1927 in her parents' home in Altus. He preceded her in death October, 1984. Virginia owned and operated the Stop & Shop Grocery Store in Altus. She was a member of the Hoffmantown Baptist church. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Noah and Sarah Elizabeth; her husband, Oxford, to whom she was married for 57 years; one brother, Woodrow Moon; sisters and brothers-in-law, Bonnie Moon Jackson and her husband, Cecil and Vera Moon Bickford and her husband, Joe. She is survived by one daughter, Patsy Teague Shelby and her husband, Dale, of Albuquerque, NM; one brother, Charles L. Moon of Arcuate, CA; sisters-in-law, Nova Teague Fells and Winnie Chandler Moon; three grandchildren, Terry, Wayne and Alan Shelby; and one great-grandchild, Alec Shelby. Graveside Service will be Wednesday, May 23, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Oklahoma City under the direction of Peoples Cooperative Funeral Home, Lone Wolf, OK.
