Donald Leon Harvey, 63, died May 14, 2001, at his Albuquerque home. He was born January 14, 1938, in Vickery (Dallas), TX to William Leon Harvey and Delia Jane Weeden Harvey, who preceded him in death as did his older brother, Ron. Donald spend his youth in Amarillo, TX, and graduated from Amarillo High School where he was active in varsity activities. He attended SMU, Dallas, and became a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. Residing in Albuquerque since 1972, he followed a career in commercial real estate, and earned a CPM (Certified Property Manager) designation. He was a member of IREM and a past president of the local chapter. His wife Gail Delcambre Harvey, and his faithful friend of 18 years, Mikie Cat, survived Don. A loving and beloved father, Donald is survived by his daughter, Tracey Harvey, of Boulder, CO; his son, Donald Leon Harvey, Jr., Christi Hawkins and granddaughter, Kacie Anne Harvey, all of Albuquerque. He is also survived by his sister, Susan Allen and husband David, of Ada, OK; brother, John Harvey and wife Kay, of Dallas, TX, as well as a large extended family and many dear friends. In accordance with Don's wishes, no formal memorial service has been planned in Albuquerque; rather he wished that friends would gather often to celebrate the strength of friendship and remember the happy times we all shared while he was with us. Cremation has taken place and a family memorial service will be held in Amarillo, TX.
