Mrs. Carmelita Tapia died Wednesday in Albuquerque at the age of 79. Mrs. Tapia belonged to Las Carmelitas Association and was a school teacher for 22 years. She is survived by her former husband, Jose Tapia; sons, Martin Tapia, Gilbert Tapia and wife, Cecelia, Joe Albert Tapia and wife, Doreen, Michael Tapia, and Vidal Tapia and wife, Joyce; daughters, Mary Cora Silva and husband, Morris and Lorraine Tapia; nineteen grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services for Mrs. Tapia will be held on Friday at the Catholic Church in Chilili, NM where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Chilili Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Martin Tapia Jr., Felipe Tapia, Donnie Tapia, Joe Tapia Jr., Luis Tapia and Margaret Silva. Honorary pallbearer will be Crystal Tapia.
