Obituary for Johnson

C. Floyd Johnson, age 85, died on July 20, 2001, following a short illness. He was born to Charles Floyd and Theresa R. Johnson on July 28, 1915 in El Paso, Texas and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from the University of Chicago and enjoyed a diverse career in mining and accounting. A long time Albuquerque resident he was involved in the Albuquerque Museum, Kiwanis and the Elks. He especially enjoyed playing the violin, reading the New Yorker Magazine and sipping a good dark beer or Manhattan. He is survived by his wife, Ann of 56 years; daughter, Susan Jolly of San Diego, California and two grandchildren; daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Joseph Harvill of Albuquerque; a niece in Virginia; and many friends who will remember him for his inquiring mind, quick wit, and attention to detail. Family and friends gathered to celebrate Floyd and Ann lives together, in January 2001. At his request, no further services are planned.
