Obituary for Smith

Marie Smith, 80, a native of Paquate, NM and a resident of Lake Charles, LA for the past 18 months, died Wednesday, July 4, 2001 in Lake Charles, LA. She is survived by her son, Albert Smith, Jr. of Lake Charles, LA; daughter, Denise Ellen Smith of Laguna, NM; brothers, Louie Alonzo and Fritz Alonzo, both of Albuquerque; sister, Rose Ingram of IN; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Smith was a graduate of the Albuquerque Indian school and Haskell Institute. She was a secretary and vocational specialist for the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Albuquerque for over thirty years. Services will be held Tuesday, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas NE, with Father Francis X. Eggert, Celebrant. Interment will take place at 1:30 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.
