Obituary for Duran

Julian A.B. Duran, 54, a resident of Albuquerque and formally of Dixon passed away unexpectedly Friday, September 28, 2001. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran former Security Police with the Air Force and was currently a Federal Police Officer for Veterans Administrative Hospital in Albuquerque. Honors include National Defense Service Medal with 1 device, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 devices, Humanitarian Service Medal, Air Force Overseas short tour ribbon, Air Force Devices, NCO Professional Military Education Ribbon with 1 device, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon with 1 device, Air Force Training, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with device. Mr. Duran is survived by his children, Ali Baba Duran and Jennifer Duran; mother of his children, Helen Duran; grandson, Mario Duran all of Albuquerque; parents, Juvencito and Melita Duran of Espanola; brothers and sisters, Frances Babbit and husband, Manuel of Bernalillo, Barbara Pacheco and Johnny of Chamisal, Oliver Duran and wife, Drucilla of Velarde and Matthew Duran and wife, Jeanette of Espanola; numerous nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, October 2, 2001 at 7:00 p.m. at the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church with Burial to follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:00 noon.
