Virginia Denby Leach, a longtime Carlinville, IL area resident, passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2001 in Albuquerque, NM. She was the third of five daughters of George and Ruby Denby and was born on February 6, 1928 in Brushy Mound Township, IL. On November 12, 1946, she married John W. Pressler, who preceded her in death in March 1982. July 1983, she married Edwin C. Leach, who preceded her in death January 2000. She is survived by her children, Nancy Slimak and Jo Pressler of Albuquerque, NM, and Michael Pressler of Des Plaines, IL; two sisters, Jean Manis of Ann Arbor, MI, Nancy Pocklington of Albuquerque, NM; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at the Vista Del Rio Chapel, 1620 Indian School Road NE, Albuquerque, NM on Sunday, October 14, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. A brief Graveside Observance will be held at the Prairie Lawn Cemetery, south of Carlinville, IL, on Sunday, October 21, 2001 at 12:30 p.m. A potluck lunch, at 1:00 p.m., will follow at the Carlinville American Legion Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Carlinville, IL Senior Center, Meals on Wheels program, c/ o Virginia Leach Memorial, 213 North East Street, Carlinville, IL. 62626.
