Obituary for Abbott

Joseph Abbott, passed away October 8, 2001, in his home. Joe was an Electrical Engineer at Sandia National Labs for over 30 years. He graduated from Highland High School in the 50's, where he was an outstanding athlete, having represented Highland High School in both track and ice hockey. He later played softball, toured the handball circuits and ran in local marathons. He played bridge and was a talented violinist, having played for both the NMSO and ACLOA. Joe was a very kind and generous individual who loved life, loved to laugh and had a heart of gold. He will be missed by his son, Joe Abbott; daughter, Julie Abbott and grandchildren, Nick and Lucy Abbott. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mae and Joseph Abbott, Sr. A Graveside Service will be held at Fairview Memorial Park, 700 Yale Blvd. SE., Albuquerque, NM on Friday, October 12, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements by the Sunrise Society of NM, 891-8200.
