Obituary for Landon

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Friday November 23, 2001

John P. Landon Sr. February 23, 1953 - November 23, 1997There once was a man in a rock and roll band, that played music just for the fun. He came a long way, didn't have much to say, cause his mind was on the sun.He brought along his silver guitar, and played that thing all on his own. Hoping one day, that he'd find a way that he wouldn't play all alone. Then came along a group of guys, and, hoping that they'd make the scene, they played at his place almost every night, and helped him to fulfill his dream. And now that we play for miles around, the people they come from near and far, to hear the sounds of rock and roll, and see his silver guitar. He made us what we are today, and looks at us from way up high. The Band, it still plays his music. We could never say good-bye.Mister Rock and Roll Man, play a song for me, Mister Rock and Roll Man, you will always be, Mister Rock and Roll Man, you will always stay, forever in our hearts. We love you, and miss you every day, your family and friends
