Obituary for Lehman

Walter Eugene Lehman, age 85, was born on February 5, 1916 and died March 3, 2001 in Albuquerque. He was a loving brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Walter was born in Bingham Lake, MN to William and Erma Lehman and raised on a farm in Rock Lake, ND. He graduated from Rock Lake High School in 1934. Walter was a Tech Sergeant during World War II in the 12th Armored Division, 134th Battalion. He married Gladys Mae Baldwin on July 13, 1947 and made their home in Akron, Ohio. Walter was an active volunteer for the Boys Soap Box Derby in Akron for many years. In 1971, Walter moved to Albuquerque with his wife and two children where he was an active member of Monte Vista Christian Church. He was a retired auto technician who specialized in Olds and Cadillac transmissions. Walter was a history buff and enjoyed camping with his family. He will be remembered by his brother, Charles, A. Lehman of California; son, Walter E. Lehman Jr. and wife, Jennifer; his daughter, Marcia Larson and husband, Bill; as well as his grandchildren, Phillip Larson, Angela Corona, and Blair Sallee. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys and brothers, John and William Lehman. Memorial Services will be held at Monte Vista Christian Church, 3501 Campus Blvd. NE on Tuesday, March 6, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place and interment will be later held in Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Monte Vista Christian Church Memorial Fund. Arrangements by Sunrise Society of NM. 891-8200.
