Arthur C. Ilfeld, Jr. 85, was born in Las Vegas, NM on July 19, 1916. He has been a resident of Albuquerque and Rio Rancho since 1925. He was the grandson of Charles Ilfeld, a pioneer in New Mexico and founder of the Charles Ilfeld Co. Subsequent to the closing of the Charles Ilfeld Co., Arthur owned and operated several businesses in Albuquerque. He is survived by his wife, Aura C. Ilfeld; daughter, Suzanne Burge and husband, Elwood; and son, Arthur Charles Ilfeld, III and wife, Carla. His youngest son, James Charles Ilfeld preceded him in death. Also surviving are his six step-children, Murt Lupton and wife, Linda, Mirt Lupton and wife, Beverly, Aura P. Jensen and husband, Dave, Marie Fluke and husband, Leslie, Judi Casadei and husband, Greg, and James Lupton and wife, Dawn; as well as 26 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. The family prefers in lieu of flowers, please make donations to your favorite charity. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Francis Episcopal Church in Rio Rancho, (Golf Course and 19th Ave.) on Friday, September 28, 2001, at 11:30 a.m. Sunrise Society is serving the family of Mr. Ilfeld.
