Obituary for Gilcrease

Alva Emma Gilcrease, who would have been 95 on November 26, 2001 passed away on the night of Tuesday, September 25, 2001. Born in Burneyville, OK, she came to New Mexico in 1930. She is survived by seven children, Roberta and Allen Stufft of Albuquerque with whom she lived for the past six years, Faye Rozell of Pinetop, AZ, Della and Sam Juckett of Albuquerque, NM, Karrel Wayne and Wanda Gilcrease of Carlsbad, NM, Murrel Lee and Mary Gilcrease of Jacksonville, FL, Gwen and Richard Miller Jr. of Los Lunas, NM, and William J and JoAnna Gilcrease of Albuquerque, NM; 26 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren with two more on the way; one sister-in-law, Reatha Louise Gilcrease of Albuquerque, NM; three nieces; one nephew; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Jordan Lee Gilcrease; three sons; her mother and father; one brother; one sister; one grandson; two great-grandsons; and two great-granddaughters. Alva will be remembered for the love she shared with many, and her gifts of quilts and jars of homemade jelly. She will be missed for her quiet understanding, her strength, and her tight hugs. Services will be Friday September 28, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Directors 3113 Carlisle Blvd NE with her grandson, Tim Juckette officiating.
