Obituary for Burnett

Louise F. Burnett, a resident of Albuquerque for 42 years, passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2001. She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, William H. Burnett. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Burnett de Gomez and son-in-law, Leo Gomez; son, William Burnett and daughter-in-law, Sharon Burnett; granddaughters, Erin and Lyndsey Burnett of Plano, TX; and her dog, Tai Tai. Special thanks to caring friends, Jeanette Romero, Phyllis Fetherolf, Terence Prasek and David Baumann. Mrs. Burnett was born February 23, 1921 in Patrick County, VA and raised as a farmer's daughter near Madison, NC. She graduated from Leaksville Hospital School of Nursing in 1941 and worked in obstetrics and emergency medicine. Mrs. Burnett helped her husband serve the U.S. Air Force with tours of duty in Germany, Turkey and several U.S. locations. Active in local business, she was president of Burnett Insurance, Inc. from 1962 until her retirement in 1992. She loved gardening, animals, puzzles, books and politics. She was a member and deacon of La Mesa Presbyterian Church, 7401 Copper NE where services will be held Wednesday, September 26, 2001, 11:00 a.m. Private interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Animal Humane Association of NM, 615 Virginia SE, 87108. Arrangements by French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel.
