Obituary for Bergren

Kenneth William Bergren, 86, born in Waterbury, CT and a resident of Albuquerque since 1965, died Friday September 21, 2001. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Ione Bergren of Albuquerque; sons, Kenneth W. Bergren Jr. and wife, Andi of Wisconsin and John V. Bergren and wife, Margit of Colorado; daughters, Nancy Schanfield of Colorado and Terry Balfe and husband, Stephen of Kansas; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Mr. Bergren served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the 10th Mountain Division. A career banker in Albuquerque with Bank of New Mexico and First Interstate Bank, he retired as Senior V.P. He was active in community civic groups. After retirement, Mr. Bergren became public relations liaison with Westland Development Corp. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed skiing, and fishing at his cabin in the Brazos. Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, September 26, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. N.E. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
