Obituary for Flores

Benito Flores, 80, passed away, February 4, 2001. Benito was born June 6, 1920 to Andres and Romanita Flores, in Cow Creek, New Mexico. He proudly served his country during World War II, earning a Good Conduct Medal, American Service Defense Service Medal, and Seven Bronze Stars. He served in many places abroad during his five year tour of duty, and finished his career in civil service. He was married to his loving wife, Clora Flores, who survives him, for 53 years, they had 11 children, Dinna and Ernie West of Pennsylvania, Kathy and Joe Purdy of Albuquerque, Rachel and George Enriquez of El Paso, David Flores of Albuquerque, Jerry Flores of California, Louella and Francisco Fematt of Albuquerque, Sally and Gerald Perea of Rio Rancho, Judy and Mike Jaramillo of California, Sharon and Phillip Lopez of Albuquerque, and daughters, Mildred and Sylvia. Mr. Flores also had 37 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren. He will be missed by those who loved him. Visitation for Mr. Flores will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday and an Evening Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., both at the 8th Street Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at Garcia Mortuary, with interment to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Joe Purdy, Marty Estrada, Gerald Perea, Francisco Fematt, Phillip Lopez, and Anthony Perea. Honorary bearers will be Frank Fematt, Johnnie Flores, Eddie Enriquez, and Max Martinez. Funeral services are in the care of Garcia Mortuary, 717 Stover Ave., SW. 243-5222.
