Jean Vinke, 72, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away in the arms of her wonderful Lord Jesus with her precious family around her on the morning of February 2, 2001. She is survived by her children, Kathy Vinke Long of Richardson, TX, Steve Vinke and wife, Denise of Albuquerque, and former Bernalillo County Fire Department Chief Glen A. Vinke of Edgewood; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Darlene Hoskins and husband, Wayne of Albuquerque; brothers, Donald Whitlow and wife, Eloise of Tucumcari, Dale Whitlow of Los Lunas, and Jerry Whitlow and wife, Deborah of Tijeras; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Harry Vinke and her parents, Bertha and Rip Whitlow. Mrs. Vinke was a very devoted wife, mother, homemaker, and pet lover. Services will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2001, 1:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Rev. Chuck Harper officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Pallbearers will be David Long, Jeff Long, Matt Vinke, Derek Whitlow, Bob Whitlow, and Gary Whitlow. Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Long, John Vinke, and Jordan Vinke. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Monday, 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
