Obituary for Bourguignon-Birner

A fifth generation ends with the peaceful death of the Birner family matriarch, Inez Bourguignon-Birner, 98 years old, on Thursday, January 25, 2001. She was born in San Marcial, NM on March 1, 1902, and later moved to Belen in 1944. She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, a proud member of the Blessed Sacrament Society and the Sacred Heart League. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank W. Birner in 1978, two sons, Eddie in 1949, Nestor in 1960, and one great-grandson, Edward in 1998. Inez is survived by her three loving children, John Birner and wife, Celia, Charles Birner, Sr. and wife, Sharon, all from Albuquerque, Sara and husband, Roy Storey from Belen; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews. A Viewing will be held on Sunday, 5:00 p.m - 6:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church followed by a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be recited on Monday, 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Belen with Interment following in the Parish Cemetery. Pallbearers will be all of her loving grandchildren. Romero Funeral Home, Belen, NM.
