Rose Mitchell was taken home by our Lord on Tuesday morning, December 20, 2001. She was 86 years old. Rose was born in Magdalena, NM., on October 8, 1915 and was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, NM. Rose was preceded in death by her husband John Mitchell and is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Johnny Bencomo; four sons, Mike and wife, Gloria, Raymond and wife, Erma, Richard and wife, Lori, Johnny Roy and wife, Jeanette; a special grandson and his friend, Jerry Mitchell and Frank Garcia; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; numerous other family members and friends who loved and will miss her. Services will be held at San Felipe Catholic Church in Old Town. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 21, 2001. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, December 22, 2001, with burial following at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th St. NW.
