Obituary for Harrison

Langdon Dewey Harrison, Col., US Air Force Retired, 78, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2001, following a long illness. He is survived by his wife, Michele Harrison of Albuquerque; daughter, Courtney Denton and husband, Terry of Denton, TX and son, Langdon Harrison Jr. of Phoenix, AZ. He also leaves behind a daughter, Murielle Protiere and son, Charles Protiere, both of Paris, France; several relatives; and friends. Mr. Harrison graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of New Mexico and was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He served with the 15th Air Force during WWII as a B-24 Pilot, accomplishing 50 missions and also as a B-57 Pilot for A.E.C. Nuclear Sampling in the South Pacific. Mr. Harrison was honored with numerous medals and decorations for combat in Europe. As a Test Pilot at Holloman Air Force Base, he also received numerous awards for Nuclear Weapons Testing. He was active with the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite of Santa Fe and the Shrine Temple, Ballut Abyad Shrine. Mr. Harrison was Owner and President of Harrison Companies, Real Estate Broker and Gas Producer. Cremation has taken place and Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, December 26, 2001, at 11:00 a.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
