Obituary for Fitter

Kathleen Fitter, 82, a resident of New Mexico since 1966, wife, mother and teacher, died Sunday, December 16, 2001. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Philip Fitter; children, James Fitter and wife, Ginny of Fairfax, VA, Mary Fitter Cox and husband, Herman of Euless, TX, and John Fitter and wife, Riva Wimsatt of Estancia; grandchildren, John Fitter, Susan Fitter Harris and husband, Trey, Kathleen Cox Dolny and husband, Bill, Alicia Cox, Constance Cox, Tamara Cox, Carolyn Cox, Polly Fitter Rich and husband, Cory, Elizabeth Fitter and Katie Fitter; and great-grandchildren, Emily Dolny, William Dolny, Robert Dolny and Ashley Rich. She was born December 12, 1919 in Jasper, Texas to Giles and Bona (Winton) McKinnon. Mrs. Fitter received her BS degree in Education in 1941 at Texas State College for Women in Denton, TX. She married Philip Fitter, June 12, 1944. Mrs. Fitter was a gourmet cook, seamstress, genealogist, lifetime member of the Republican Party and true friend to all who knew her. Cremation has taken place and memorial mass will be held Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Estancia, with Rev. Anthony Martinez, Celebrant.
