Obituary for Schwartzberg

Stanley Schwartzberg, 68, a resident of Albuquerque for 23 years, died Monday, March 10, 2003. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Leona Schwartzberg of Albuquerque; sons, Jay Schwartzberg of Albuquerque and Mitchell Schwartzberg of Houston, TX; and sisters, Renee Goldstein of Virginia and Sharon Markman of California. Mr. Schwartzberg served his country with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He has continued to serve his communities helping as a volunteer fireman for the Oceanside Fire Department in New York for over 12 years. He volunteered for over six years with the Neighborhood Watch in Heritage Hills where he opened and closed Ventura Park every morning and evening. Mr. Schwartzberg retired from the University of New Mexico Physical Plant after 20 years of service. Services will be held Thursday, March 13, 2003, at 12:00 noon, at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, with Rabbi Chaim Schmukler officiating.
