Obituary for Smith

Christopher Paul Smith, 39, of Leander, Texas passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2003. He was born on October 16, 1963, in Amarillo, Texas. Above all else, Chris loved and adored his son, Christopher. He also had a passion for music, both as a songwriter and vocalist. Chris was a master guitarist touring worldwide with nationally known bands. Chris is preceded in death by his grandparents, Don and Lois Smith and Robert and Bernice Parmer. He is survived by his son, Christopher Ryan Smith of Austin; parents, Kenneth and Pat Dout of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Charles A. Smith of Leander; sisters, Rayanna Glasson and husband, Phillip of Lockney, TX, Kimberly Patterson and husband, Pat of Lake Belton, TX; brothers, Charles Randall Smith and wife, Heather of Prairie Village, KS, George Daniel Smith of Prairie Village, KS; nephews, Travis, Heath, Garret and Devin Patterson and Layton Glasson; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a lot of friends. Visitation was held Monday. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 18, 2003 at Beck Funeral Home with Rev. Gilbert R. Davila officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Chris may be sent to Hospice Austin's Christopher House, 4107 Spicewood Springs Road, Suite 100, Austin, TX 78759-8660.
