Obituary for O'neil

George L. O'Neil, 89, died Monday, February 3, 2003. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Kathryn Hanlon O'Neil of Albuquerque; sons, George D. O'Neil and wife, Rose of Albuquerque; Laurence G. O'Neil and wife, Suzanne of Oakland, CA, and Robert H. O'Neil of Las Vegas, NV; daughters, Kathleen V. Daniels of Albuquerque and Laurette E. O'Neil and husband, Zygmunt of Sopot, Poland; and ten grandchildren. Mr. O'Neil was in the U.S. Army 117th Cavalry (Essex Troup), during WWII. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion and Cub Scout Master, Boy Scouts of America. After retiring from JC Penny in 1979 he continued to work in a number of roles including; volunteer work at the Jersey Shore Medical Center, Senior Support Services, County Court and Blue Cross Blue Shield all in New Jersey. Mr. and Mrs. O'Neil recently relocated to Albuquerque from Las Vegas, Nevada where they resided at Carefree Living, St. Elizabeths Parish. He was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church where the Rosary will be recited Friday, 10:00 a.m. Mass will follow Friday, 10:30 a.m., at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, Lomas at Tennessee NE.
