Obituary for Baker

Carlyle Juslyn Baker, 59, died on January 7, 2003 in Albuquerque. He was born in Jackson, MS to Sam and Barbara Willis Baker. Mr. Baker served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. A year ago, he moved from Jackson, MS to Albuquerque and was a member of St. Joseph on the Rio Grande. His interests included Boy Scouts, Knights of Columbus and Christian Motorcycle Club. He is survived by his wife, Mary C. Baker of Albuquerque; parents, Deacon Sam and Barbara Baker; children, Casey Xavier Baker, and from a previous marriage to Sarah Baker, Dejuan Baker, Tammy Dickerson and husband, Dwight, and Carlotta Baker (his son, Mario Baker, preceded him in death six months ago); daughter-in-law, Michele Broussard; and a grandchild, Sarah E. Baker. Also surviving are a sister, Sandra Baker-Taylor; brothers, Rhenaldo Baker and wife, Barbara and George Baker and wife, Nita; nieces and nephews; and numerous relatives and friends. A Rosary will be recited at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, January 12, 2003 in Chapel of Sandia, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 13, 2003 at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande, 5901 St. Joseph Drive NW, with Fr. Frank Prieto as Celebrant.
